Skrill's E:FC FAQ Page

Welcome to the page that answers the questions I have received about this site. They range from the normal to the downright strange. Please read this first if you have a question about this site before emailing Skrill. It may save you the time and effort and avoid unnecessarily bothering the siteop with questions that have already been answered. The questions and answers are in no particular order.

Skrillwerks Story Archive FAQ

General Information

I.  Why was this archive put together?

This archive was conceived as a way to gather the stories, verse, filk, essays and other miscellaneous artistic writings of the fans of Earth: Final Conflict. Many of the stories here were first posted on the efc-fanfic mailing list.

II.  What types of stories are found in the archives?

Any and all stories are welcome to the archive so long as they are related to Earth: Final Conflict. This includes stories, verse and poetry, filk, opinions and development essays on characters, and so forth. See the ratings system below for further explanation of story descriptions.

III.  What do the ratings and annotations mean on the list?

The following are the ratings and annotations used to describe submittals to the archives:

Type: Description:
S= Story Story is a standard fictional writing.
P= Poetry/Verse    Poetry/Verse is all poetry, verse,rhymes, or filk.
O=Other Other includes character essays, opinions, and anything not covered in the previous categories.

Content Description:

G
General reading, no real violence or vulgarity of any kind.

PG
General reading, some mild violence, no vulgarity of any kind. Consider these no worse than a standard episode.

PG-13
Readers over the age of 13 only due to violence and mild vulgarity. Consider these to be slightly more intense than the standard episode shown on television.

R
Restricted to readers 17 and over due to language and content.

A
Adults only! Absolutely no one under the majority in their area of the world should read this. Adult stories will have the following additions to indicate why they received the rating they did: A=Adult Situations, V=Violence, L=Language. I doubt we'll see any of these here but you never know. See Adult Fiction below for more details.

IV. What do those symbols mean?

Season 1: Anything before and including the Joining.

Season 2: Anything occurring during Season 2 (Episodes 201-222)

Season 3: Anything occurring during Season 3 (Episodes 301-322)

Season 4: Anything occurring during Season 4 (Episodes 401-422)

 Season 5

 Alternate Universe: Alternate endings/character portrayals/etc.

 Humor

Crossover story: Crossovers with other series seem to be a big favorite on the net so I set aside a group.

Submitting a Story

I.  What type of stories may be submitted?

Any and all stories, poetry, etc. are welcome for submittal to the archive. The only requirement is that they have something to do with Earth: Final Conflict.

II.  How do I submit a story?

Simply email it to KMGray3@aol.com . As stated previously many of these stories are from the efc fanfic mailing list.  Note: There must be a valid return e-mail address with the story or it will not be posted.

Stories will be posted faster if they are spell checked before submitting to the archive. If needed there are willing beta readers available. Please see the Beta Readers Page for the list of these individuals.  Also, stories deemed too violent or otherwise deemed unfit for the readers of the archive due to content will not be posted and the writer will be emailed in return indicating the reasons for their rejection.

III.  I submitted my story but it has yet to be posted to the Archive. Why?

There could be several reason for this. One, the story has too many spelling errors to allow to be posted until corrected. Two, the story was deemed unsuitable due to content or beta-readers discovered that the submittal was incorrectly classified. Three, for some odd reason we never received it. In the first two cases the submitter will be notified. Four, this ol' Skrill just hasn't had the time. :-) In the this case, I ask that you wait seven days from posting before Emailing an inquiry as to the stories status.
