The Vorlons were one of the few remaining "First Ones" in the Galaxy. The Vorlons were left behind to watch the development of the younger races and to guide them wheneever possible. Aided in this task by the Shadows, the two races soon made war upon one another using the younger races to prove whose philosophy should dominate the development of the younger races. The Vorlons and remaining First Ones left the Galaxy after coming to realize at the Battle of Corianna that they were no longer needed and were actually causing more harm than good.

The Vorlons were extremely secretive, allowing few to see their natural state. Even less is known about their language or culture. The Vorlons were known to speak to the younger races in riddles and phrases often deemed uncomprehensible or indeciferable much of the time.
